EESTEC LC Aachen is happy to announce you our new Workshop “European Future Power System – Vision and Reality” this Autumn. You are interested in the future of our energy supply? You always wanted to feel the sweet sound of a 600 MW generator rotating? Then Aachen is the place to be this November. The structure of power generation in Europe is changing more rapidly ever since and we need to face the technical and economic challenges to adequately find suitable solutions. System stability, grid structure and market design are essential topics of the development, that we would love to discuss with you in our Workshop. In six great days in Germany we will give you a wide overview of research approaches and industry expertise to think about and discuss. And of course, we won’t miss to visit one of the biggest lignite power stations in Europe.

As can be seen in the description, we are preparing an interesting academic program in power engineering and energy economics.
Therefore it would be optimal to have interest and basic knowledge about the components and functionality of electricity supply systems.
For your application we would be happy if you let us know about your knowledge level in power engineering, so that we can match your individual needs in our introduction lectures.

Furthermore, don’t miss the chance of visiting our lovely and tiny student city which is located directly at the Dutch and Belgian border and has a lot of internationals! It may seem there is no one around but students because city center is our university campus since it is surrounded by RWTH University buildings. Well yeah that means we have eduroam on the street 😉 Be ready for the “beautiful” Aachen-weather, parties and lot’s of beer and our Flunkyball tournament! Another challenge: take home as much chocolate from our Lindt factory outlet as you can carry. So, pack up your umbrella and EESTEC Spirit – you’re going to need them both equally 😀
